ALBERTA PELOTON ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES SENIOR MANAGEMENT CHANGES
(Edmonton, AB) – Peter Verhesen, the Chairman of the Alberta Peloton Association (APA), the owner and operator of the ATB Tour of Alberta, announced today changes in senior leadership to the organization.
Scott Fisher has been appointed President & CEO of the ATB Tour of Alberta effective immediately.
“I am honoured and excited to take on this new role,” said Fisher. “I look forward to working with our many partners to bring the world’s top athletes to the ATB Tour of Alberta and to showcase all that this province has to offer.”
Fisher, a well-respected member of the local business and cycling community, is a former co-owner and partner at Oomph Events, and an original member of the operational team responsible for getting the Tour of Alberta off the ground. Beginning for the inaugural event in 2013, Fisher acted as the Director of Partnerships. In recent years, Fisher has been a part of the senior management team as the Managing Director of the event.
“I truly believe there is not a better person for this role than Scott Fisher,” said Verhesen. “His dedication, integrity and passion combined with his extensive event management and cycling knowledge make him the ideal leader as we move into the future. We welcome Scott aboard in his new role and we look forward to making other major announcements in the coming weeks.”
Duane Vienneau will transition out of his role as President & CEO of the ATB Tour of Alberta and will continue to support and be an advocate for the 2017 event in an informal capacity.
“The APA expresses our sincere gratitude for all that Duane has done for this organization. He has made a profound impact on so many initiatives key to the success of the Tour of Alberta. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours, and we are grateful to still have his support as we prepare for the 2017 event,” said Verhesen.
